The bragging about Dick Cheney’s endorsement really was odd. I hadn’t thought about him since that “Vice” movie came out, and then in 2008 beforehand.

The Democrats have not been the party of working people for at least thirty years. "Where can they go?" they said. Well, now we know. They went.

This is a poor analysis of why VP Harris lost. It had nothing to do with Israel-Palestine or her not being progressive enough. If, she had run as a Bernie Sanders like progressive both the electoral vote and the popular vote would have been a lot more lopsided for Trump.

The fact that VP Harris took left-wing positions on a variety of issues when she ran for President in 2020 is a small part of the reason for her loss. But the main driver behind the discontent in the United States is that people feel like they are feeling behind financially.

This creates opportunities for demagogues like Trump to come along and exploit the economic pain people are feeling by blaming immigrants of color, transgender folks, and sometimes Jews for the economic problems they are experiencing.

Let’s face it. In the 2024 presidential election, the American people voted for fascism. And I it was not just white men. 45% of Latinos, more African American women than in 2020, most Muslim voters in Dearborn, MI, and even 26% of Jews voted for someone who attempted to overthrow the United States government for years earlier.

Make no mistake about it; the MAGA movement and the Republican Parry will most likely completely self-destruct outside of Its 45% or so fascist base of the electorate come 2026 and 2028, that is if the U.S. is still a functioning democracy by then. But they also may take the rest of us down with us when they do this.

The magnitude of the suffering both at home and abroad will probably be so immense and intense that many Americans vote against the Republicans for that reason alone in 2026. In 2028, if Democrats put forth an appealing vision for the Middle Class and one that will help those trying to work their way into the Middle Class they may reclaim the presidency.
